The partiers stay on Middle Bass Island, across the way. Kelly's island is a peaceful place to get a golf cart and a 6-pack and cruise the island. Hide the beer though, it is not legal to have the container open in the golf cart.

This beach at the north end is a rocky one, and Erie Water Snakes (http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/wildlife/Resources/reptiles/eriewatsnake.htm) abound...so this is a nature lover's beach more than a swimming one.

While you're there, walk 100 yards or so to the largest glacial formation in North America.
