This beach is near the famous beach boardwalk and Santa Cruz wharf. It's a great area to hang out, and this beach (at low tide, and with a decent swell) feature some excellent mid-sized waves for surfing. Don't bother trying if there's no swell though. One good surfing days, the surfing area can be crowded, but you can usually find a break where's there's room to catch a good one without crowding the locals. Parking is tough in this whole area.
