Lower Bay is on the island of Bequia which is the largest of the Chain of islands known as The Grenedines. Port Elizabeth is the capital of Bequia.

Lower Bay is a beautiful stretch of beach on the South West side of the island. This area has several homes, apartments and guest houses for accommodations and several restaurants and beach bars. Sounds crowded but it's not.

The sea at Lower Bay is mostly flat, but can have some swells as seen recently in February 2005, when the upper part of the beach was eroded due to heavy sea swells. There is a small tidal pool about midway down the lenght of beach, which is perfect for children.

At the northern end of the beach is a reef of mostly rocks, but it has a good amount of fish and shells to look at if you are into snorkeling.

I highly recommend this beach and area of Bequia for a visit.
