- Paynes Bay is a nice little cove. The location is just south of Sandy Lane Hotel and beach and just north of Tamerind Cove. The best road side landmark is The Coach House Restaurant, which also offers a nice public walk to the beach and a drinks cart and food service onto the beach.
The beach it's self has great sand, a few shade trees (used to have more), but there is someone who rents chairs. The water can vary depending on the weather (obviously), but for the most part calm gentle waters of the "Caribbean" Sea. (Its' really the Atlantic, but people call it Caribbean.)
Several beach vendors renting chairs. You will get a few people trying to sell you aloe and hairbraiding. Bumbas Restaurant lies on the southside of the cove and is a beach bar and restaurant.
