Witsands
A rugged natural beach favoured with surfers and kitesurfers. It can get very windy here and therefore it is not the best sunbathing beach. The rugged beauty of huge dunes and rough seas makes this a spectacular visit.
Facilities:
* Some parking is available however there is seldom crowds so normally just parking along the road and walking to the beach is not a huge problem
* There is no public toilets, or shops.
* No life guards.
Beach activities:
* Surfing at Wirsands:The Crayfish Factory(✪✪✪✪✪) a scary very big right-hand wave that breaks on a outside reef. One of Cape Town's heaviest waves. For experienced (crazy) surfers only. Witsands (✪) itself just a few hundred metres to the left is dull and boring in comparison. Not too much goes on here. You might as well head for misty cliffs.
* Sunbathing at Witsands (✪✪): Lets just say you are better off at Long Beach.
