Why do I have to "login" to add information?

With many sites you have no idea where the information comes from. This anonymous submission often causes quality to suffer. By having people create an account before submitting information the site editor can write back for clarification or to check on any possible copyrights. The account information will never be used for advertising, and will never be shared, so you don't have to worry about your privacy here. It will be protected.

When I add a new beach, review, or link why is it labled 'Pending'?

All submissions to World Beach List go through a review process before being made available to everyone. If you submit an item, you and the site administrators will be able to see it until the review is done. After the review everyone will be able to see it.

What does the small globe with a question mark ( ) next to some entries mean?

The globe with question mark symbol means that World Beach List does not know the location of this beach or town. With the location you can find out what other beaches and towns are near by and in what direction. You can be of great help to the site if you can provide location information for these resources.
